FANFARE OLAÏTAN
Brass Band | Drôme
Founded in 2016, the Olaïtan brass band, which means “the source that never runs dry” in its name, is composed of 7 musicians united to create multicultural music accessible to all, drawing on the traditional culture of Benin.
Brass and percussion blend together to form a single unity, to be felt through dancing and singing. This ensemble ingeniously combines the heritage of traditional festive music with contemporary jazz-style brass arrangements. Olaïtan has a highly varied repertoire, both in style and content. Their songs also celebrate traditional entertainment, cultural events, and relay ancient stories. The main themes revolve around peace, education, love, etc. Their stage performances and street parades are energetic and colorful.
« You don’t just listen to the Olaïtan brass band, you follow it, experience it, and share it. »
